Late goals sink Silvertips in loss to rival Thunderbirds

Everett allows two goals in the third period and falls to Seattle 3-2.

EVERETT — Mekai Sanders potted the go-ahead goal late in the third period as the Seattle Thunderbirds rallied for a 3-2 win over the Everett Silvertips on Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Jared Davidson also score early in the third period for Seattle, which trailed 2-1 entering the final frame.

Austin Roest and Jackson Berezowski scored for the Silvertips, who were hosting their annual “Teddy Bear Toss” game.

Braden Holt stopped 38 of 41 shots for Everett (15-11-1-0).

Scott Ratzlaff made 35 saves for Seattle (19-4-1-0).
