Late home runs doom AquaSox in loss to Dust Devils

Everett rallies from a 4-0 deficit but fails to get back to .500 on the season.

EVERETT — Steven Rivas and Edwin Yon hit back-to-back solo home runs in the top of the eighth inning that ended the Everett AquaSox’s hopes of reaching the .500 mark in a 6-4 loss to the Tri-City Dust Devils on Sunday at Funko Field.

Trent Tingelstad scored on an error, James Parker hit a run-scoring single and Mike Salvatore mashed a game-tying two-run homer in the sixth as the AquaSox (30-32) rallied from a 4-0 hole.

Pakrer and Salvatore each had two hits and Tingelstad a double for Everett.

Yon, Kyle Lovelace and D’Shawn Knowles drove in runs for the Dust Devils (28-31) in the second.

Luis Curvelo (3-1) took the loss for Everett after allowing both solo home runs in the eighth.

Tri-City’s Hayden Seig (1-0) tossed two scoreless innings to earn the win and Dakota Donovan pitched the ninth for his third save.
