The injury news today was mostly positive for the Seahawks, who got out of Saturday’s win relatively unscathed. WR Ben Obomanu separated his shoulder, but is doing well and should be able to practice this week, Pete Carroll said. LB Lofa Tatupu (concussion) would seem to be the bigger question mark, but Carroll sounded positive about him as well.
“Lofa responded very well today,” Carroll said. I’m very encouraged by his turnaround from yesterday to today.”
Tatupu no doubt still has hurdles to clear this week, but Carroll was optimistic that his defensive captain will be able to return to practice later in the week.
As for this weekend’s trip to Chicago, the consensus seems to be that the previous win over the Bears was helpful in that Seattle will be familiar with its surroundings on the trip, but not because the Seahawks won the game.
“That would be a dangerous way to think,” Matt Hasselbeck said.
Speaking of Hasselbeck, upon reviewing the tape, his game was just as impressive as it looked Saturday, Carroll said.
“He had a tremendous football game,” Carroll said. “He was bold too. . . That was his best football game for us this year.”
Hasselbeck didn’t try to hide the fact that he was happy with his performance, saying there were only two or three throws he’d have liked to have back.
“I felt good about how I played,” he said. “Real good.”
