Lendale White, who was recently cut by the Seahawks after just 35 days with the team and his former coach at USC, Pete Carroll, talk for the first time since being released, telling The Tennessean that he was confused and wasn’t sure why he was let go. White, who is facing a four-game suspension from the league, also admitted to smoking marijuana in the interview.
When asked about his former coach, who White has raved about in the past, he didn’t have kind words for Carroll.
“Pete Carroll? The same Pete Carroll who ran out on ‘SC?” White told Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “I have no comment on Pete. I better wait ’til I’m on a team one day before I say anything.’”
As for news affecting the Seahawks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that S O.J. Atogwe, who is an unrestricted free agent, will visit with the Seahawks next week. Atogwe, who has spent the first five years of his career, is considered the top free agent available, so his signing would certainly be newsworthy. Most still consider the Rams the favorite to sign Atogwe, but Seattle isn’t exactly set in their secondary, so this interest could be legitimate.
