I’ll be in Mill Creek this evening to cover the Monroe vs. Lake Stevens boys basketball game. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Jackson High School.
The Monroe-Lake Stevens game is a Class 4A District 1 tournament semifinal. The winner advances to the district championship and earns a state regional berth. Monroe, the Wesco North No. 1 seed, beat Wesco South No. 4 seed Cascade 65-39 in the first round on Tuesday. That same night, North No. 3 seed Lake Stevens edged South No. 2 seed Kamiak 74-72 in Mukilteo.

The other semifinal — Arlington vs. Jackson — is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. I’ll probably post some updates during that game too while I write my story about the earlier contest.
