Local girls basketball stars headed to Saturday’s all-state games

Several local prep basketball stars will be on display during the 21st annual Washington/North Idaho all-state girls basketball games Saturday, June 17, at the HUB Sports Center in the Spokane suburb of Liberty Lake.

The event features three East vs. West games: the B game at 1:30 p.m., the Class 1A game at 3:30 p.m. and the 2A/3A game at 5:30 p.m.

Stanwood juniors Ashley Alter and Kaitlin Larson will represent the Spartans in the 2A/3A game. Alter averaged 15.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game this season and Larson added 11.7 points and 7.8 rebounds to help Stanwood (20-6) reach the 3A state quarterfinals.

Archbishop Murphy coach Cassie Snyder will coach the 2A/3A West team, which includes the Wildcats duo of sophomore forward Emily Rodabaugh and junior guard Olivia Riojas. Rodabaugh averaged 11.8 points and seven assists per game this season and Riojas added nine points per contest, helping Murphy (19-6) advance to 2A state quarterfinals.

Senior forward Salome Yosef and junior forward Jamie Copeland will represent Cedar Park Christian-Mountlake Terrace in the B game. Yosef averaged 22.1 points and 11 rebounds per game this season and Copeland added 9.1 points and nine rebounds per contest to help the Lions reach the 1B state quarterfinals.

Joining the CPC-Mountlake Terrace duo in the B game will be Grace Academy sophomore guard Ashley VanDam, who averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game this season.
