EVERETT — Lynnwood managed to hold Everett to just 13-percent shooting from the field (6-for-46) to earn the 39-22 Wesco 3A victory over the Seagulls on Thursday night.
In describing the games defensive play Everett coach John Low said, “Both teams applied pressure, (it) was just a defensive battle and we clearly struggled to put the ball in the hole.”
After an 11-4 score to end the first quarter, Everett was able to make a run to put the game within two just before the half. After that point Lynnwood increased its lead and never looked back.
One of the games offensive standouts was Lynnwood junior Arsenia Ivanov, whose nine points all came from beyond the 3-point line. Grace Douglas was also able to put up nine points on the night to go along with her two 3-point field goals.
With the victory Lynnwood remains in first place in Wesco 3A.
