TACOMA — The Prairie Falcons rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Lynnwood Royals 47-38 Wednesday in the opening round of the Class 3A girls state basketball tournament in the Tacoma Dome.
Lynnwood (14-13) led 31-28 going into the final period, but the Falcons (19-6) outscored the Royals 19-7 over the final eight minutes.
Megan Cross led Lynnwood with 11 points. Mokun Fajemisin added eight points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Lauren Goecke paced Prairie with 12 points.
Lynnwood plays Yelm at 9 a.m. Thursday in a loser-out contest. Yelm lost 60-33 versus Holy Names Wednesday in a first-round game.
