LYNNWOOD – The Lynnwood Royals thumped the Meadowdale Mavericks 2-0 in a 3A Northwest District playoff game Thursday at Lynnwood H.S. Both teams will continue in district play Saturday at Lynden H.S.
The 15-9, 15-3 victory by the Royals (9-6 overall) avenged a 3-1 loss they suffered at the hands of the Mavericks (8-7) Wednesday.
Jenna Huston recorded eight kills for Lynnwood.
Archbishop Murphy 2, University Prep 0: At Bear Creek School, Archbishop Murphy advanced to the Class A tri-district quarterfinals Saturday at Edmonds-Woodway H.S. with a 15-9, 15-11 victory over University Prep.The Wildcats (6-10 overall) were led by Lauren Coate, who had 10 kills, 15 digs and two blocks.
King’s 2, Bush 0: At King’s H.S., King’s eliminated Bush from the Class A tri-district tournament with its 15-3, 15-11 first-round victory. Jen Galliher had seven kills, Jamie Debell had five kills and Kelly Irvin had 11 assists for King’s, which advanced to Saturday’s double-elimination portion of the tournament at Edmonds-Woodway H.S.
