MARYSVILLE – The Marysville-Pilchuck girls basketball team held on for a 56-54 non-league victory over Squalicum on Monday night in the M-P gym.
According to M-P coach Julie Martin, the Tomahawks led by 20 points in the second half before forgetting to block out Squalicum players for rebounds.
“They capitalized on that and got a lot of layins,” Martin said.
Squalicum hit a 3-point shot with two seconds remaining for the final points of the game.
Nicole Peterson, who spent much of the early season on the junior varsity team, contributed 12 points for the Tommies.
