The coed bowling team from Mariner High School took over first place in the Everett Parks &Recreation League last week.
The Marauders, led by sophomore Joshua Jackson who rolled a 669 series, held a one-point lead over second-place Lake Stevens, 103-102.
Top individual honors among the boys went to Jackson High School’s Les Moore, who rolled games of 254, 244 and 207 for a 705 series, and Dennis Johnson of Cascade, who produced the week’s high game (267).
For the girls, Grace Cook of Lake Stevens rolled the top two games, 203 and 197.
Gymnastics
Juarez wins all-around title: Olivia Juarez, 10, of Everett won the Level 4 all-around competition at the State Gymnastics Meet held Dec. 6-7 in Bothell.
Juarez competes for Everett-based Leading Edge Gymnastics.
Juarez won the bars (a score of 9.40) and the beam (9.425) and finished with an all-around score of 37.05.
Her efforts helped the Leading Edge Level 4 squad finish second in the team standings.
Wrestling
Sequim Folkstyle Challenge: Two members of the Stanwood-based Team Scorpion Wrestling Club won individual titles in the midget division at the Sequim Folkstyle Challenge on Saturday.
Zachary Schut won the 75-pound class and Wade Weinert took first place at 80 pounds.
