Mariner capitalizes on Jackson ballhandling miscues

MILL CREEK — Mariner took advantage of Jackson’s ballhandling errors to outscore the Timberwolves by 14 points in the second quarter en route to a 51-32 win in Friday’s Wesco South game at Jackson High School.

“We had a ton of turnovers,” Jackson coach Steve Johnson said. “We had 12 in the first half and eight of those must have been in the second quarter. That was a big part of our demise.”

Jackson played the Marauders even in the second half but never made up the halftime deficit.

“Mariner is very patient,” Johnson said. “That makes it tough to come back.”
