SEATTLE — Jose Moreno will be back as manager of the Everett AquaSox this summer, the Seattle Mariners announced Wednesday.
Moreno led the AquaSox to a 36-40 record last season in his third stint as the team’s skipper. He also managed the Sox in 2008 and 2010. The 2010 squad won the Northwest League title.
Moreno’s staff will include pitching coaches Danielin Acevedo and Moises Hernandez, and hitting coach Eric Farris, who is entering his first season as a coach in the Mariners’ organization.
The Mariners also announced that Mitch Canham will return as the manager of the Modesto Nuts, Seattle’s affiliate in the Class A California League. Canham, a graduate of Lake Stevens High School, is entering his third season as a manager in the Mariners’ organization and his second at Modesto.
The managers of Seattle’s other minor-league affiliates include Pat Listach (Tacoma, Class AAA), Daren Brown (Arkansas, Class AA), Denny Hocking (Clinton, Class A) and Zac Livingston (Peoria, Rookie).
