PEORIA, Ariz. — Matt Kemp and Wil Myers homered, leading the San Diego Padres to an 8-5 exhibition win against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.
San Diego right-hander Andrew Cashner allowed one run and four hits in 6 1-3 innings.
Myers went deep on J.A. Happ’s first pitch of the game. Kemp also homered in San Diego’s three-run first.
Happ was charged with 11 hits and six runs in five innings.
Dustin Ackley hit a two-run homer for Seattle.
