BALTIMORE — The Seattle Mariners have placed starting shortstop Jack Wilson on the 15-day disabled list and recalled infielder Matt Tuiasosopo from Triple-A Tacoma.
Wilson is out with a strained right hamstring. The Mariners announced the move Wednesday in Baltimore, and made it retroactive to last Thursday.
Wilson hurt his leg running out a bunt on May 5. The 32-year-old Wilson is batting .253 in 25 starts. He’s normally a defensive whiz, but has had a puzzling string of errors.
Josh Wilson will continue to be the regular shortstop while he is out.
The 24-year-old Tuiasosopo began the season with Seattle. He made five starts in the infield and outfielder before being optioned to Tacoma on May 2.
