SEATTLE — Left-hander Horacio Ramirez and the Seattle Mariners agreed Friday to a $2.75 million, one-year contract, thereby avoiding salary arbitration.
Ramirez, 28, was the only arbitration-eligible player remaining on Seattle’s roster.
Ramirez made $2.65 million last year when he had an 8-7 record with a 7.16 earned-run average in 20 games. He can earn $300,000 more in performance bonuses: $100,000 each for 150, 175 and 200 innings pitched.
The Mariners pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report for spring training in Peoria, Ariz., on Feb. 13.
