On the trainer’s table

n Right-handed pitcher Anderson Garcia isn’t allowed to throw for seven days after an MRI showed inflammation in his shoulder.

n Catcher Brant Ust hit in the cages Sunday as he returns from back spasms.

Weather

n Sunny and a high of 77 today in Tucson, where the M’s play the White Sox. In Peoria, it’ll reach 81 to begin a week with high temperatures in the low to mid 80s.

They did it

n The Mariners are in the middle of their three-day trip to Tucson, but that doesn’t mean their facility in Peoria is empty. Several players stay behind and work out every morning, and the minor league camp is teeming with players — 44 right-handed pitchers, 20 left-handed pitchers, 17 catchers, 28 infielders and 24 outfielders. Minor league games begin March 14.
