PEORIA, Ariz. — Seattle outfielder Ichiro Suzuki plans to see a doctor to try to determine the cause of fatigue that has kept him out of the lineup the past three days.
Suzuki wasn’t around the clubhouse Thursday morning, the Mariners’ final day in Arizona. He experienced some fatigue and lightheadedness earlier this week, and manager Don Wakamatsu says Suzuki planned to see a team doctor later in the day.
Suzuki is still expected to accompany the team to Las Vegas on Friday for a pair of games against the Colorado Rockies.
The Mariners star played nine games during the World Baseball Classic last month before arriving in the Mariners’ spring training camp on March 26. He has played in four spring training games.
The Mariners open the regular season Monday at Minnesota.
