JUPITER, Fla. — Marlins All-Star second baseman Dan Uggla has been scratched from the starting lineup because of tightness in his left calf.
The team described the move as “precautionary.” Andy Gonzalez started at second base against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Uggla is batting .209 (14-for-67) with five home runs and eight RBIs this spring. He struck out 24 times with eight walks.
Uggla batted .260 with 32 homers and 92 RBIs last season.
