Marte, Joyce lead AquaSox to win over Dust Devils

Everett jumps out to a 6-0 lead and rebounds from Wednesday’s loss.

PASCO — Noelvi Marte had four hits and three RBI, Jimmy Joyce struck out 13 batters over 5.2 scoreless innings and the Everett AquaSox defeated the Tri-City Dust Devils, 6-2, on Thursday night at Gesa Stadium.

Marte led off the game with a solo home run and drove in runs with singles in the fifth and sixth innings. Mike Salvatore and Dariel Gomez added RBI singles in the fifth, and Alberto Rodriguez scored on a balk in the seventh for the AquaSox (41-42).

Joyce (4-8) allowed three hits and two walks.

D’Shawn Knowles hit sac fly and Mike Peabody chipped in an RBI single for the Dust Devils (36-45).

Tri-City starter Robinson Pina (6-4) allowed four runs, three earned, over four innings. He struck out nine and walked one.
