Troy Parker recently resigned after five seasons as head coach of the Meadowdale girls basketball team, announced Meadowdale athletic director Chris Murphy.
Parker led the Mavericks to a sixth-place finish at the state tournament in his first year as head coach in 2009. He took the Lady Mavs to the district tournament in every year he was head coach and finished with a 73-45 record.
Murphy said Parker cited the year-round energy it requires to run a successful program as one of the reasons he stepped down.
Parker will remain as an assistant coach of the football team.
Murphy said the position is posted and the school hopes to have a new coach soon.
