EVERETT — The Everett Merchants picked up a pair of wins Saturday in a doubleheader against the Seattle Wallbangers at Everett Memoiral Stadium.
The Merchants won the first game 4-2 after falling behind 2-0 after three innings. Everett tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning as Anderson Crawford and Max Jeffery drove in runs. Ethan Smith delivered the difference-maker in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run triple.
A big fourth inning led to a 9-1 Everett victory in the second game. Sean Clancy hit a two-out two-run triple, Arlington’s Gavin Rork followed with a run-scoring single and Smith tripled Rork home to cap a four-run inning.
Kyle Umperovitch and Jackson Bandow picked up wins on the mound for the Merchants (3-0).
Everett will take the diamond for a home doubleheader Sunday against the Redmond Dudes, with the first game starting at 3:05 p.m. A free children’s baseball clinic will place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
