SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The Mill Creek All-Stars completed a pool-play sweep with a 4-0 victory over Nevada in the Little League Western Region softball tournament Monday at Al Houghton Stadium.
Amanda Wininger pitched a three-hit shutout for Mill Creek, which improved to 3-0 in the tournament while earning the No. 1 overall seed and a first-round bye for the single-elimination portion of the tournament. Mill Creek plays at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against the winner of Tuesday’s matchup between the eighth and ninth seeds.
Mill Creek broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the fourth inning. Deirdre Delgado and Lauren Whitley singled, and Abby Pennylegion and Whitley came home on wild pitches. Sydney Warren and Pennylegion drove in runs in the fifth to complete the scoring.
