The Mariners haven’t made an official announcement yet, but Milton Bradley is taking early batting practice with the team at this moment and is listed in left field on tonight’s lineup card. That means he’s coming off the restricted list, which had prevented him from any on-field activities with the team.
So, if Bradley is back, who’s leaving?
You think first of the possible DL candidates. Ryan Langerhans, who’s had a bad elbow, is in center field with a bat. Jose Lopez, who hurt his right knee and ankle last night at Oakland, is in tonight’s lineup.
Forget the Ken Griffey Jr. retirement possibility for now, because he’s taking his hacks in the cage along with Josh Bard. Mike Sweeney is in uniform behind the cage with manager Don Wakamatsu. Matt Tuiasosopo is shagging flies in left field and Michael Saunders is standing next to him with a bat.
Here is tonight’s lineup:
Ichiro Suzuki, right field
Chone Figgins, second base
Franklin Gutierrez, center field
Mike Sweeney, DH
Jose Lopez, third base
Milton Bradley, left field
Casey Kotchman, first base
Josh Bard, catcher
Josh Wilson, shortstop
Right-hander Doug Fister, starting pitcher
