Mini-Sprints and Midgets tackle Skagit Speedway

ALGER, Wash. – August 7, 2009 – Mini Sprints and Midgets will join the

Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series as special guests this Saturday at

Skagit Speedway. The first 5000 women attending the event are free part of

“Ladies Night out at the Races.”

This is the second time Ford Focus powered Midgets take to the high-banks of

Skagit this season. Expected entries include Dirt Cup Midget Madness victor

Brandon Daniels, contenders Seth Hespe, Jonathan Jorgenson, along with last

year’s event winner Allison Journey.

Mini Sprints from the 1200cc and 600cc ranks will converge on Skagit with

new setups and gearing changes to tackle the larger sized track. Division

leaders and main event winners Spud Allen, Kyle Johnson, Shaun Holtorf, and

Eric Drake are possible entries. Use to shorter sized circuits the event

will test both drivers and crews as they adapt to the faster speeds and

longer distances.

With nearly a month of time since their last point’s race, Jesse Whitney

leads Colton Heath in the Associated Asphalt 410 division heading into

Saturday’s event by just 12-points. Sportsman Sprints and Outlaw Hornets

will also take to the track. Events start at 7pm with opening ceremonies.

Adult admission is $13, kids under six are free.
