Aaron Cunningham, who played baseball for Everett Community College during the 2004-2005 season, hit a two-run double in the seventh inning Sunday to help the Oakland Athletics come from behind and take a 5-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
It was the only at-bat of the game for Cunningham, who was pinch hitting for Jeff Baisley.
Cunningham, the first ever EvCC player to reach the major leagues, was originally drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2005. He was traded to Arizona in 2007, and was acquired by Oakland the following offseason.
Cunningham is batting .288 for the A’s this year in 18 games. He has 14 RBI on 19 hits.
