The Seahawks wrapped up their second practice of the day, which like the morning practice was held in front of 1,500 or so fans. The fans seemed to enjoy themselves, though the cheers did briefly turn to boos when a fan dressed in Green Bay Packers gear walked by.
Guard/tackle Ray Willis, who rested a sore knee this morning, was back on the field, but receiver Billy McMullen (knee) and fullback Owen Schmitt (calf) were added to the list of guys sitting out along with LT Walter Jones (back spasms), DT Brandon Mebane (knee), CB Marcus Trufant (back) and LB Aaron Curry (unsigned).
Cornerback Josh Wilson was one of the stars of practice, picking off a pair of Matt Hasselbeck passes, one in a one-on-one drill, and the other in seven-on-sevens.
At one point, it looked like a Pac-10 rivalry carried over to the NFL when safety C.J. Wallace, a former Husky, put the hardest hit of the day on receiver Jordan Kent, a former Duck.
Defensive end Michael Bennett did something an undrafted-free agent should avoid, tackling a running back to the ground when Jim Mora has been preaching all week that he’s trying to avoid the kind of contact that can get players hurt.
Mora quickly pulled Bennett aside for what looked like a pretty stern lecture. Not the best way to make a good impression for a guy trying to make the team.
