Monroe beats Oak Harbor

OAK HARBOR – A battle between two Pacific-10 bound players unfolded Friday night in a Western Conference North division girls basketball game with Oak Harbor falling to Monroe 61-41.

Oak Harbor’s Heidi McNeill, committed to play at the University of Washington, led all scorers with 17 points. Monroe’s Arizona State-bound Kirsten Thompson scored 13, losing the scoring battle, but taking home the all important win for Monroe.

“I was excited about our effort tonight,” Oak Harbor coach Brett Mcleod said.
