Kylin Munoz is easily the most talented volleyball player I’ve covered at The Herald. The Monroe High School senior keeps winning prestigious awards.
The latest honor for Munoz, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, is a biggie: She is Gatorade’s Washington 2008 Volleyball Player of the Year.
Munoz is the first volleyball player from Snohomish County to win the annual Gatorade award, according to this list of previous Washington winners.
In case you missed it, here is our All-Area Player of the Year story about Munoz, written by Alex Bosworth.
In Bosworth’s All-Area story, he notes that Kerri Walsh is one of Munoz’s sports idols. It will be fun to see if Munoz becomes a college star and Olympian like Walsh.
