EDMONDS – The Mountlake Terrace Hawks came from behind to post a dramatic 2-1 victory in double-overtime over Meadowdale in a loser-out 4A District 1 girls soccer playoff game Tuesday night at Edmonds Stadium.
Mountlake Terrace (10-7-1 overall) will play Snohomish in a winner-to-state, loser out game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Vernon H.S.
Hawks freshman Stephanie McLauchlan headed the game-winning shot over the Mavericks’ goalkeeper and it bounced into the net with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime.
With Meadowdale leading 1-0 late in regulation, Terrace’s Megan McGuire scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute.
Meadowdale’s Brooke Simons scored in the 34th minute, giving Meadowdale (10-4-3) and early 1-0 lead.
