Waiting
The Mariners weren’t sure when Jason Davis, the right-handed pitcher acquired from the Indians on Sunday, would report to the team.
The Marines acquired the hard-throwing reliever in exchange for a player to be named later. He’s expected to join the team during the three-game series against the Angels, which begins tonight.
The Mariners will have two roster moves to make in order to make room for both Davis and Felix Hernandez, who will come off the disabled list tonight.
Another Bloomie: Mother’s Day brought special meaning to Willie Bloomquist and wife, Lisa, gave birth to their second child on Sunday – Ava Lynn. She joins two-year-old sister Natalie Marie.
Bloomquist, who missed Sunday’s game, is expected back in uniform tonight.
Of note: Sunday’s pitching matchup will feature the best of the young and old pitchers in the game – Mariners 21-year-old Felix Hernandez against Padres 41-year-old Greg Maddux. … Andrea Peterson, the Granite Falls music teacher who was named the national teacher of the year, is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Thursday’s game.
