SEATTLE – The Seattle Mariners announced plans Friday for selling tickets to possible postseason games at Safeco Field.
Season ticket holders are being contacted by mail and will be offered an opportunity to buy strips of tickets for the entire postseason schedule.
There could be as many as 10 postseason games at Safeco Field, including the first-round division playoffs, the American League Championship Series and the World Series.
The Mariners said information on single-game ticket sales to the general public will be announced when it’s assured the Mariners will advance to the postseason. Entering Friday’s game, the Mariners led the American League West Division by 18 games and had a magic number of 30 (the combination of victories by the Mariners and losses by second-place Oakland totaling 30) to clinch the title and a playoff berth.
Prices for postseason tickets, as set by Major League Baseball, will be $35 and $50 for the division series, $65 and $85 for the Championship Series and $125 and $175 for the World Series. A non-refundable service fee of $35 will be charged on full-strip ticket orders to cover processing costs.
