EVERETT — Taking advantage of two birdies and an eagle midway through his round, Mark Strickland of Mukilteo fired a 2-under-par 70 on Sunday to win his second consecutive Everett Amateur golf tournament at Legion Memorial Golf Course.
Strickland, who opened the 36-hole tournament on Saturday with a 3-under 69 at Walter Hall Golf Course, finished at 5-under 139.
A year ago, Strickland won with a tournament-record 8-under 136. He is the first two-time winner in the tournament’s five-year history.
Brennan Emory of Mount Vernon, Connor Miele of Everett and Paul Bonorden of Mill Creek shared second place with 2-under 142s. Anthony Allen of Arlington and Joe Fryer of Snohomish tied for fifth at 1-under 143.
