UNIVERSITY PLACE — A pair of Archbishop Murphy boys golfers finished with 79s to make the cut at the 2A boys golf state championship at Chambers Bay on Wednesday.
Sean Goldfinch and Ben Thacker each shot a 79, while teammate Brian Lucas missed the cut with a 90. Goldfinch and Thacker finished tied with Prosser’s Taylor Gant for 14th. Goldfinch tees off at 8:20 Thursday morning, with Thacker teeing off 10 minutes later.
Sammamish’s Matt Maresse shot a 7-under 65 to take the first-round lead.
