Murphy secures 2A district playoff berth

COUPEVILLE — The Archbishop Murphy girls are in.

Murphy clinched a 2A District 1 playoff berth with a 55-36 Cascade Conference victory over Coupeville Tuesday night, avoiding the possibility of having to play a loser-out, play-in game to qualify for the tournament.

Lauren Moran scored 13 points to lead the Wildcats, who are unbeaten in conference play. Nickole Bartholomew added 10 points for Murphy.
