PORTLAND, Ore. — Two-time All-Star Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a five-year contract extension, his agent says.
The Blazers planned a news conference with Roy on Friday to announce the deal, which was first reported by Yahoo! Sports Wednesday.
The extension could be worth more than $85 million, depending on what the league’s salary cap is for next season. That would be the richest in Portland’s history.
Roy led the Blazers with 22.6 points and 5.1 assists per game last season, his third in the league.
