NBA ROUNDUP: Roy’s 32 paces Blazers past Lakers

PORTLAND, Ore. — Brandon Roy scored 32 points and the Portland Trail Blazers won their ninth straight at home against the Los Angeles Lakers with a 107-98 victory on Friday night.

The Blazers own the NBA’s longest home winning streak against the defending champions.

Kobe Bryant had 32 points and eight rebounds for the Lakers, who trailed by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter but cut the margin to single digits in the final minutes.

The victory is the latest display of Portland’s surprising resiliency despite a rash of injuries. The team has lost both of its big men — Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla — to knee injuries for the rest of the season, but the Blazers have won seven of their last 10. The Lakers were without Pau Gasol, who missed his third straight game with a sore left hamstring.

Wizards 104, Magic 97

WASHINGTON — Antawn Jamison had 28 points and 11 rebounds, and Washington overcame a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit in the team’s first home game since Gilbert Arenas’ suspension. Caron Butler scored 23 points and Randy Foye, who started in Arenas’ point guard spot, added a season-high 20 for the Wizards.

Orlando guard Vince Carter sprained his shoulder in the second quarter, and did not return.

Hawks 93, Celtics 85

ATLANTA — Jamal Crawford scored 18 points, including two crucial 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, and Atlanta beat Boston for the second time this season.

Paul Pierce scored 21 to lead the Celtics.

Mavericks 112, Spurs 103

SAN ANTONIO — Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, and Dallas rallied from a 10-point deficit entering the fourth quarter.

Tim Duncan had 31 points and 12 rebounds for the Spurs.

Heat 109, Suns 105

PHOENIX — Jermaine O’Neal scored four points in the final 29.7 seconds, two on a pair of clutch free throws, and Dwyane Wade had 33 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Hornets 103, Nets 99

NEW ORLEANS — Chris Paul hit a driving scoop as he was fouled with 7.6 seconds left, and New Orleans narrowly averted a stunning home loss with its fifth straight win. Courtney Lee scored 28 points and Keyon Dooling added 21 for New Jersey.

Grizzlies 91, Jazz 89

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Zach Randolph had 29 points and 15 rebounds, and O.J. Mayo hit a 21-foot step back jumper with 5.2 seconds to help Memphis end an 11-game losing streak to Utah.

Nuggets 99, Cavaliers 97

DENVER — Carmelo Anthony had the best seat in the house for the big visit from LeBron James, missing the game but enjoying the result as the injury-riddled Denver Nuggets beat the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kenyon Martin filled in nicely for Anthony, scoring 19 points, grabbing 12 boards and playing tough defense on James down the stretch.

Warriors 108, Kings 101

OAKLAND, Calif. — Monta Ellis had 39 points and six assists, Anthony Morrow made a critical 3-pointer in the final minute, and the Golden State Warriors came back from an 18-point deficit in the second half to beat the Sacramento Kings. Tyreke Evans had 25 points and six assists.

T-wolves 116, Pacers 109

MINNEAPOLIS — Al Jefferson had 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Minnesota spoiled Danny Granger’s surprise return to Indiana’s lineup. Kevin Love had 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Raptors 108, 76ers 106

PHILADELPHIA — Chris Bosh made the go-ahead three-point play with 8.4 seconds left, and had 29 points and nine rebounds to lead Toronto.
