A year after winning just five games all season, the Jackson boys soccer team is one of the area’s biggest surprises this spring. The 7-1 Timberwolves won again last night and are in first place in the Western Conference South Division.
As a result, Jackson’s already received some regional and national attention.
In the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas rankings, released Tuesday, Jackson is No. 3 in the region and No. 15 in the country. The rankings only include teams that compete in the spring. In many states boys soccer is played in the fall or winter.
Jackson, which has outscored opponents 17-8 so far, wasn’t ranked in the season’s first NSCAA/adidas polls.
Several other local teams made the regional rankings, including No. 4 Shorewood, No. 5 Cascade and No. 6 Snohomish.
