Everett Silvertips forward Cole Fonstad was named Wednesday to Team WHL for the annual Canada vs. Russia Series on Nov. 13 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Nov. 14 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
The Silvertips acquired Fonstad from Prince Albert on Sunday.
The Canada-Russia series is part of the selection process for the squad Team Canada will send to the Czech Republic in December for the 2020 World Junior championships.
The 2000-born Fonstad, a fifth-round pick by Montreal in the 2018 NHL draft, has nine points (two goals and seven assists) in nine games this season.
