Just a couple quick notes from today’s New Year’s practice. Left wing Dan Iwanski was diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee, so he’ll be sidelined three-to-four weeks. Also, defenseman Nicholas Walters, the team’s first pick in the 2009 bantam draft, has joined the team for practices. That gives Everett two prospects who are currently getting some practice time with the Tips: Walters and forward Tyler Giebel. Neither is expected to get into a game during their stay in Everett.
