NEW YORK — The Washington Redskins will play the Seattle Seahawks at 1:30 p.m. next Saturday afternoon in an NFC wild-card game that will open the NFL playoffs.

That will be followed by Jacksonville at Pittsburgh at 5 p.m. Saturday night in an AFC game.

The New York Giants will play Tampa Bay at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by Tennessee at San Diego at 1:30 p.m.

The second round will start at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 12 at Green Bay (13-3), with unbeaten New England at home at 5 p.m.

Indianapolis (13-3) will be home for the first game Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. That will be followed by a 1:30 p.m. game, with Dallas (13-3) as the host.

Washington (9-7) wrapped up the final NFC playoff spot Sunday by beating Dallas 27-6. The Redskins will meet Seattle (10-6) the NFC West champion.

The Giants (10-6) are the fifth-seeded team and the Bucs (9-7) are the fourth-seeded team as the NFC South champions. The Giants played on Saturday night and will have a seven-day layoff, an extra day of rest.

Jacksonville (11-5) is the fifth seed in the AFC and Pittsburgh (10-6) is the North champion.

San Diego (11-5) is the AFC West champion and has the third seed. The Titans earned the sixth seed and became the last AFC wild-card team by beating Indianapolis, which played mostly with backups, in the final regular-season game Sunday night.

In the second round, Green Bay can play any of the other first-round NFC teams except Washington. Dallas can play any except Seattle.

In the AFC, the Patriots can play anyone but San Diego, and the Colts anyone but the Titans.
