The National Lacrosse League and the Professional Lacrosse Player’s Association announced that they have reached a deal on a Collective Bargaining Agreement for the 2013 season on Wednesday.
The terms of the agreement were agreed upon at a July 12 bargaining session and both parties have agreed to continue working toward a long-term CBA for the 2014 season and beyond.
On June 25 the league’s Board of Governors unanimously elected to opt out of the final two season of the prior CBA. The 2012 season was the fifth season of a seven-year agreement agreed upon before the 2008 season. Both the league and the players had the option of opting out of the final two years of that agreement, which the league chose to exercise.
