Everett Silvertips coach Dennis Williams had no update on winger Martin Fasko-Rudas during Friday’s off day from the WHL Western Conference championship series.
Everett holds a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series against the Tri-City Americans following Thursday night’s 3-1 victory in Kennewick, and the Tips can finish the series off by winning Game 5 Saturday night at home at Angel of the Winds Arena.
However, it’s unknown whether Everett will have the services of Fasko-Rudas in that game. Fasko-Rudas, a 17-year-old rookie from Slovakia who’s been manning the right side on the Tips’ third line alongside Reece Vitelli and Bryce Kindopp, left Thursday’s game because of an undisclosed injury and did not return. Spencer Gerth filled Fasko-Rudas’ spot the rest of the game.
Here’s what Williams said when asked for an update:
“Not right now there isn’t [an update]. We left him home today [when the Tips didn’t hold an on-ice practice] and just told him to rest and we’ll revisit him tomorrow at the doc when he comes in.
“He took a hit, so we’re just monitoring an injury there.”
Fasko-Rudas had six goals and nine assists in 70 games during the regular season. His production has increased during the playoffs as he has four goals and two assists in 14 contests.
