The 2nd Annual Wesco Alumni Softball Game took place Tuesday night in Everett. The Wesco North defeated the Wesco South 12-1.
Here is a recap from Everett High School softball coach Kyle Peacocke, who helped coach the Wesco North stars:
“It was a blast! The score was lop-sided this year but the girls had a wonderful time playing ball on a beautiful evening. There were lots of photos, smiles, and fun conversations.
We’d like to thank the Snohomish County Umpires Association and President Nick Nickerson for sending 12 umpires in support of this event — they are an amazing group. At one point in the game umpire Joe Fisher actually traded places with North catcher Torie Coury – Fisher caught for one batter, while Coury called balls and strikes.
Bill Aven (Ashley Aven‘s Dad) was also in attendance to give a pre-game talk on softball and life. He also brought a #2 banner (Ashley’s high school #) to hang up on the outfield fence during the game and he handed out Big Deep Breath bracelets – It was great!”
