No big surprise here: Jay Turner has been hired as Oak Harbor High School’s head football coach. Oak Harbor athletic director Nicki Luper just announced the hiring via e-mail.
Turner had been Oak Harbor’s defensive coordinator for eight seasons and has been with the program for 12 years. The 1990 Marysville-Pilchuck graduate and former University of Montana defensive tackle replaces longtime Oak Harbor coach Dave Ward, who last month retired after 17 seasons.
