Outdoor calendar
n The Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club and the Everett Parks Department are offering a Learn to Fish Class from 7-9 p.m. on Aug. 18, 27 and Sept. 1 at Legion Hall. The class will focus on river fishing. Members of the Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club get in free. There is a nominal charge for non-members. n The Snohomish Sportsmen Club is scheduled to meet for a potluck at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 at Hill Park on Blackman’s Lake. The guest speaker will be Doug Hatfield, hatchery manager for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.
n The Elger Bay Grocery 50/50 Charity Salmon Derby is scheduled for Aug. 29-30. The entry fee is $45. All proceeds benefit the Safe Harbor Free Clinic in Stanwood. For more information, call 360-387-2262.
