• The Sno-King Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) meets at 7 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the Sammamish Valley Grange in Woodinville (14654 148th Ave. NE). The guest speaker is John Anderson, executive director of Sound Salmon Solutions. He will be discussing resource and habitat restoration in the Puget Sound area. • The Roche Harbor Salmon Classic Invitational is scheduled for Feb. 2-4. The boat fee is $700 (maximum four anglers per boat). The fee includes dinners for the anglers and moorage for the tournament fishing boat. For more information, call Debbie Sandwith at 360-378-5562.

• Greg’s Custom Fishing Rods in Lake Stevens is offering a four-session Rod Building Class on Wednesdays and Thursdays in February. Sessions are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 15, 16, 22 and 23. The cost is $35 plus rod blank and components. To register, call 425-335-1391.

• The 2012 Olympic Peninsula Salmon Derby is scheduled for Feb. 18-20. First prize is $10,000. Weigh stations will be available in Port Angeles, Sequim, Gardiner and Port Townsend. Tickets are $40. For more information, visit www.gardinersalmonderby.org.
