Pac-10 men roundup: Oregon State stuns Southern Cal in OT

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Roeland Schaftenaar’s 3-pointer sent the game into overtime and Oregon State went on to beat Southern Cal 62-58 Sunday, snapping a 23-game Pac-10 Conference losing streak.

Schaftenaar tied a career-high with 18 points for the Beavers (6-6, 1-1), who erased a 15-point second-half deficit. Calvin Haynes added 16 points, including four points in overtime.

Taj Gibson led Southern Cal (10-4, 1-1) with 15 points. The Trojans entered the game on a five-game winning streak.

Cal 81, No. 17 Arizona St. 71

BERKELEY, Calif. — Jerome Randle converted a four-point play with 2:13 remaining, matched his career high with 26 points and had a career-best 10 assists for California (13-2, 2-0 Pac-10), which won its seventh straight. James Harden finished with 26 points and eight rebounds to lead Arizona State (12-2, 1-1 Pac-10).

No. 12 UCLA 83, Oregon 74

EUGENE, Ore. — Darren Collison scored 22 points and No. 12 UCLA held off Oregon’s second-half rally for an 83-74 victory on Sunday. Josh Shipp added a season-high 17 points for the Bruins (12-2, 2-0 Pac-10), connecting on 5-of-6 3-pointers. Tajuan Porter scored 24 points for the Ducks (6-8, 0-2), including 15 in the second half as Oregon pulled within three points after trailing 40-29 at halftime.

Stanford 76, Arizona 60

STANFORD, Calif. — Landry Fields matched his career best with 19 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds as Stanford (11-1, 1-1 Pac-10)beat Arizona (9-5, 0-2) 76-60 on Sunday night.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Junior guard Benny Valentine came off the bench to score 33 points. Adris DeLeon had 17 points and Milan Stanojevic added 12 more for the Eastern Washington Eagles (8-7, 2-1 Big Sky), who made 9-of-20 three-pointers.

Portland 71, Seattle 67

SEATTLE, Wash. — Austen Powers shot 11-of-17 from the field, including 4-of-7 from behind the three-point line, to finish with 28 points for Seattle University (8-6), but Portland (9-6) hung on to win.
