LOS ANGELES — Kayla Pedersen had 20 points and Jeanette Pohlen added 19 to lead No. 3 Stanford past UCLA 69-58 Friday night, the Cardinals’ 10th straight win.

Pedersen scored 12 of her points in the first half and had seven rebounds (23-4, 14-1 Pac-10). Jill Harmon, who joined the 1,000-point club, finished with 12 points.

Stanford made nine of its first 11 shots to start the second half and build a 55-41 lead. The Cardinal made 50 percent of their 3-pointers and shot 53.2 percent from the field.

Darxia Morris scored 10 of her season-high 18 points in the first half for UCLA (16-10, 7-8). She scored six straight points to give the Bruins a 14-8 lead in the first half.

Despite committing nine turnovers in the first 14 minutes of the game and 12 by halftime, the Cardinal made 50 percent of their field goals to take a 58-33 lead at the break.

LOS ANGELES — Alexis Gray-Lawson scored 22 points and hit two key free throws with 15 seconds left, helping No. 4 California stay atop the Pac-10 standings.

Gray-Lawson carried California (23-3, 14-1) on an off night for leading scorer Ashley Walker, who came in averaging 20.3 points but was 1-for-10 from the field and didn’t score her first field goal until there was 4:05 left in the game.

The senior finished with 12 points for Cal, which has won eight straight against USC.

California shares the No. 1 spot in the Pac-10 with Stanford, which held off UCLA on Friday.

The Golden Bears, who reached the 23-win mark for the first time in school history, took an 11-point lead — their biggest of the game — when Natasha Vital hit a 3-pointer with 13:33 left. USC (14-12, 8-7) rallied back and Heather Oliver’s 3-pointer with 1:10 remaining made it 63-62 before Gray-Lawson helped Cal hold on.
