Peterson drives in three, Merchants top Lefties

Bryce Peterson’s three RBI night helped lift Everett to a 7-4 victory.

PORT ANGELES — Bryce Peterson drove in three runs, Caden Cornett delivered five strong innings on the mound and the Everett Merchants beat the Port Angeles Lefties 7-4 Thursday at Civic Field.

Peterson finished 2-for-5 at the plate and Mickey Coyne went 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

Cornett allowed four hits and one earned, striking out four along the way, and Koby Blunt struck out two over an inning of work to record the save.

The Merchants take on the Redmond Dudes at Hartman Park in Redmond on Saturday at 7 p.m.
